How to use this calculator
- Choose the pour shape closest to your formwork.
- Use thickness units separately when depth is in inches and length is in feet.
- Add waste percent for overage before ordering ready-mix or bags.
Features
- Multiple pour shapes
- Waste volume planning
- Cubic feet / yards / meters
- Thickness unit flexibility
- Offline iPhone workflow
Formula
Rectangular shapes: L × W × thickness. Round: πr² × depth. Waste volume = net × waste%.
12 ft × 20 ft × 5 in slab, 5% waste
Net ≈ 100 ft³ (≈ 3.70 yd³). With 5% waste, total required ≈ 105 ft³.
Practical notes
- Ready-mix is often quoted in cubic yards — use the yards output when calling the plant.

FAQ
Can thickness be in inches while length is in feet?
Yes. Pick a thickness unit independent of length/width units in the wall and slab modes.
